Description

Chronic radicular, i.e. nerve root back pain, as a single neuromodulation treatment, is treated by pulsed RF with the aid of, for instance, the radio-frequency catheter Epi Navigator Cath Flex. The principle of the technique lies in the application of moderate heat (approx. 42 °C) and an intermittent electrical current to the point of pain – the dorsal root ganglion, or the entry or exit point of the nerve root. The effect of heat anesthetises the nerve and the pain is interrupted. The catheter is introduced through the hiatus sacralis, a natural opening in the sacrum.

Benefits

The treatment is carried out under the constant supervision of x-ray

The flexibility and navigability of the highly ergonomic catheter Epi Navigator Cath Flex allows precise placement in the desired anatomical localisation. One of the things it offers is the possibility to administer pharmaceuticals by infusion.
