From 18 March there will be a series of e-learning webinars for the professional public on cryoablation denervation in the treatment of pain in joint structures will be held under the auspices of the Pain International School an international educational institution. The webinar on the use of the method for the SI joint will be led by MUDr. Róbert Rapčan, PhD, MBA, FIPP, Medical Director of EuroPainClinics.

The aim of the webinars is to provide specialists in the field of pain management with comprehensive knowledge about the application of cryoablation procedures in patients with joint pain, which they can put to use in their own clinical practice. The programme for each webinar will present the mechanism, advantages and clinical application of cryoablation denervation in practice for each problem, it will introduce clinicians to the patient referral system and will also include a live broadcast from surgeries (live cases).

The series of webinars will be launched on Thursday 18 March by Dr. Agnes Stogicza, who is a member of the World Institute of Pain (WIP) Education Committee, Vice-Chair of the WIP Hungarian Section and serves as a FIPP Examiner for the FIPP and CIPS international examinations. In her webinar she will deal with cryoablation denervation of the hip joint. Dr. Igor Filipovski, a specialist in treating pain using ultrasound-guided neurolysis on the peripheral joints and regional anaesthesia, will cover cryoablation for the knee joint in the next webinar on March 24. On 1 April, Dr. Philip Peng, Professor at the University of Toronto’s Department of Anaesthesiology, an educator, researcher and pioneer in the application of ultrasound when treating pain, will present his webinar on the topic of shoulder joint denervation using cryoablation.

MUDr. Róbert Rapčan, PhD, MBA, FIPP, as a founding member and president of the Slovak Society for Interventional Pain Treatment, chairman of the Interventional Pain Management Section of the Slovak Society for the Study and Treatment of Pain, and an FIPP examiner, will hold his webinar on 8 April on the theme of the cryoablation denervation of the SI joint.

Cryoablation denervation is an innovative method of pain relief using the principle of temporarily interrupting sensory functions in selected nerve structures by applying low temperature. Cryoablation does not permanently damage nerve structures and therefore the nerve tissues can slowly regenerate without the risk of postoperative neuroma. It is a minimally invasive and safe procedure in cases where the results of previous treatments do not appear satisfactory.

The Pain School International, whose guarantor is the World Institute of Pain (WIP), was founded by a group of pain treatment specialists from around the world to help fellow physicians further their qualifications and acquire new information in the treatment of patients with pain. The courses are intended for certified physicians to expand their knowledge and skills in interventional pain treatment. They are likewise intended for physicians who are striving to attain the international Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP) or the Certified Interventional Ultrasound Sonographer (CIPS) certification awarded by the WIP.

At the EuroPainClinics workplaces, this prestigious international certification is currently held by specialists in minimally invasive and endoscopic treatment: MUDr. Róbert Rapčan, PhD, MBA, FIPP (FIPP Examiner), MUDr. Róbert Tirpák, FIPPMUDr. Martin Griger, PhD, FIPP, a MUDr. Juraj Mláka, FIPP, EDRA.
